To our sweet brides who have had to make changes to postpone or adjust your wedding dates, we are so sorry… but worry not! Brides transitioning to a Summer or Fall date may assume that means they have to abandon their dreamy Spring colorscape, but we disagree! Many 2020 trends are timeless, and traditionally Spring can be beautifully done throughout the entire year! We hope this brightens your day up a bit and inspires you.
Something Classic Blue
Pantone’s color of the year for 2020 is classic blue! The great thing about a classic color is that it never goes out of style. From Cinderella to First Ladies, this color has been a statement of grace and beauty since the 1950s! A stunning hue, classic blue is a great way to add statements into your ceremony or reception space but can also be incorporated in your bridesmaids’ dresses, floral or with your shoes for the perfect something blue. This tones pair well with neutrals, cheerful yellow and deep green.
A Touch of Nature
Another popular wedding trend of 2020 is pulling from nature and our surroundings! Deep greens and decorations like stems and greenery have been a trend for a couple of years now and only continue to thrive.
Around here, we’re a fan of natural elements paired with historic buildings, although natural elements pair well with lots of different event looks. We’re lucky enough on our site to take advantage of the nature that is already around us in Rachel’s garden, which never disappoints.
Mix and Match
One of our favorite trends right now is mismatched bridesmaids dresses. Choosing a color or color scheme and letting your bridesmaids choose a dress that they love and feel comfortable in can create a really unique look and make sure your bridesmaids are happy with their dresses. You can even incorporate trends like pattern mixing! While florals are typically reserved for Spring, you can tell by the foliage in this photo that it is no longer the rule!
Pops of Color
While we love the neutral color palette and beautiful all-white weddings, events full of color are getting their moment in 2020. Colorful bouquets, arches and backdrops brighten up any space and make for a really beautiful wedding. Jewel tones are a popular color palette with purples, pinks, blues and greens. This trend also pairs well other trends like natural elements and would make for a beautiful mix of bridesmaids dresses.
Changing Up the Timeline
One last thing we’ve noticed in 2020 trends are morning and daytime affairs! We’ve had several brides this year say goodbye to an 11 p.m. ending and decide that a 10 a.m. ceremony and brunchy foods is more their style! This could be a unique way to celebrate with your family and friends if you’re a bride that finds yourself not wanting some of the traditional things - and that’s okay because I Do doesn’t have to mean a dance at dusk.
Thanks for following along about Spring to Summer trends!
Happy planning!
