Our 7th president was known for having a deep and loving marriage with his wife, Rachel, despite the controversy it incited among Jackson’s political rivals.

As First Lady of The Hermitage, Rachel Jackson enjoyed the garden and Hermitage Church most of all. The venues Rachel adored remain today as a symbol of the love and commitment between the two and offer a beautiful beginning for new couples.

Their love story began in 1788, when Rachel Robards left Kentucky for her mother’s home in Nashville, allegedly because she and her husband were quarreling. It was there that she first met Andrew Jackson, who had just arrived from North Carolina after earning his law license…

Spanning 1,120 acres, Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage is able to offer brides and grooms widely different ceremony and reception location options. No matter what your dream vision is for your special day, we have the venue to make it happen. As one of the most well-preserved early presidential homes, there is something for everyone. From a rustic cabin to a Greek revival-style mansion, from expansive lawns to a historic church, events held here are unique and memorable.

The first step of planning your wedding at The Hermitage is to pick your venue.

We have two onsite ceremony locations:

The Hermitage Church and The Garden

We have four onsite reception venue locations:

The Cabin-by-the-Spring, Tulip Grove Mansion, The Garden and The Grounds.

Each of these reception locations also include their own special ceremony spot. However, there is always the option to add on one of our incredible ceremony locations as well.
