Hello and welcome to this series of blogs where we dive deep into our different venues and what they offer! Today we are talking about our charming and vintage Cabin-by-the-Spring.

From board meetings and corporate events to bridal showers, birthday parties and all the weddings you can imagine, our Cabin-by-the-Spring has seen a lot of things since its construction in 1940 by the Ladies Hermitage Association.

The Cabin sits toward the back of the property through the Andrew Jackson Center, which means that guests attending an event at the Cabin will walk right past the historic Hermitage Mansion (usually an awe-inspiring moment for our history-loving guests).

This main entrance area can be dressed up with draping and floral for a romantic touch, lined with ferns and plants for that corporate feel or just left as-is!

The main entrance of the Cabin or the “dog trot,” as we refer to it, is the home of friendly greetings, the registration table, the guest book and gift table and even the grand entrance + exit of a Mr. and Mrs. for the first time.
We’ve even seen an occasional cake or two right near the entrance! Possibilities of decorating this area are endless!

The dog trot is flanked on both sides by vintage style double doors that open up into both the large and small multi-purpose rooms that are often used for seating, dancing, food or entertainment.

The larger room seats 100 guests maximum, and the smaller room seats 50 guests maximum. Both rooms have functional wood-burning fire places, which make winter events extremely cozy and always add a sense of authenticity to the space! All of the interior rooms at the Cabin are also climate-controlled with A/C and heat.

At the end of the Cabin’s entrance, you’ll find the covered terrace, which is the most popular location for the bar, dancing, chatting and mingling, although the picture below displays additional seating. We also typically see a music setup with a band or DJ on the terrace.

The back part of the terrace includes private restrooms that only remain open for events, as well as a catering kitchen complete with a stove, oven, refrigerator and ice machine. As a side note, we have seen the terrace occasionally used for ceremonies or rain plans like displayed below!

For those colder winter months, we can enclose and heat the terrace through our rentals vendor partner - Liberty Party Rentals - with these white walls seen below! Because of this, we often see Cabin events held December through February in addition to the classic wedding spring and fall months.

To the front and to the side of the Cabin are two beautiful grassy lawns available for the use of a rental client. We often see wedding ceremonies underneath our largest tree on the front lawn (picture below).

On occasion, big white tents are placed on the lawns for added space and extra charm, and we’ve even seen an open-air dance floor and reception. Options are truly endless with this space!

Behind this gorgeous couple below you can see the Cabin in the distance, which just shows how beautiful the surrounding areas of the Cabin-by-the-Spring are. Although this particular photo was taken in November, there are lush green trees in addition to the fall leaves during the greener months of the year!
